Manchester United's squad have been handed a much-needed boost as Jonny Evans and Anthony Martial return to training ahead of their crucial Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Monday, according to Manchester Evening News.

Evans, who has been sidelined for the past four weeks, and Martial, who is four weeks behind schedule in his recovery from groin surgery, offer a significant boost to United's lineup.

The French forward hasn't seen action since December 9, making his impending return a moment for both fans and the team.

Manager Erik ten Hag expressed his optimism last week, confirming that Martial, along with Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez, would be rejoining team training after enduring lengthy spells on the sidelines.

Shaw has been nursing a hamstring injury since February 18, while Martinez suffered a calf strain during a training session on March 30.

The injury list at United has been a cause for concern, with players like Tyrell Malacia, Victor Lindelof, Raphael Varane, Marcus Rashford, and Willy Kambwala all struggling with various fitness issues.

The return of Evans and Martial couldn't come at a better time for the Red Devils, who are aiming to secure a strong finish to their season.

Both Evans, aged 36, and Martial, aged 28, find themselves in pivotal moments in their careers, with their contracts set to expire next month.

While Martial is likely to depart after nine years with the club, Evans has proven his worth with 14 starts this season, following his return to his boyhood club after being released by Leicester City.
