Social media users have responded in a variety of ways to the announcement made by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf that 5,200 women will get payments of N50,000 a month from him.
He made this announcement on Tuesday in a post that he posted on his official X handle. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf stated that the 5,200 ladies will be distributed throughout the 44 Local Government districts in the state in a post on his Facebook. He indicated that until the end of his term, each of them will get $50,000 per month. The programme was created, according to the governor of Kano state, to support small and medium-sized enterprises in the state.
On his page, he wrote: "I had the pleasure of launching a monthly empowerment programme that provides N50,000 each to 5,200 women in the state as part of our drive to support Small and Medium Enterprises in Kano.
Until the end of my tenure, N260 million in cash would be distributed each month to one of the four Local Government areas of the state's five,200 distinct sets of women. However, social media users had a number of responses to the post once it appeared online.
