Chidi Lloyd, the chairman of Emuoha Local Government Area, has voiced his concerns regarding the crisis between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike in Rivers State. He criticized former Governor Peter Odili's pronouncement of Fubara as the political leader of Rivers amidst the crisis.
In an interview with Channels TV, Lloyd stated that Odili should have taken a more diplomatic approach, similar to how the Tor Tiv of Benue State resolved a feud between Governor Hyacinth Alia and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume. He said Odili should bring Wike and Fubara together to resolve their differences peacefully rather than take sides.
In Chidi Lloyd's words: "We watched on TV what Tor Tiv did with SGF and Governor Alia, that is what elders should do and not to come and dangerously take sides and polarize the state unnecessarily".
