"I've Always Said That If A Student Were To Grade His Papers, He Will Score Himself 100%-E.An Adeboye

In a recent video on YouTube, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, emphasized the importance of divine evaluation over self-assessment and public opinion during a recent sermon. He drew an analogy between students grading their own papers and God’s ultimate judgment.

He stressed that what truly matters is God's testimony about an individual, rather than self-perception or the praise from others. He illustrated this point by referencing the biblical figure Joshua, whom he described as an exemplary leader in the eyes of people.

According to him, "I've always said that if a student were to grade his papers, he will score himself 100 per cent. It is when the teacher does the grading that the teacher will then be able to say, ah ah ah you didn't even score 50 per cent. It is very essential that you must know that the testimony of God concerning you is what matters; not what you think of yourself, not what people are even saying about you. "Oh, there's no person like you. Ah, you're the best of all fathers. There's no mother like you."

"No singer like you. No musician like you, no teacher like you." What is God saying about you? Because to us, Joshua was a great champion if you consider all he had done: took over from Moses, crossed Jordan, was the one who led them when they pulled down the wall of Jericho and then, all kinds of miracles, signs and wonders, destroyed Ai, destroyed all the enemies of all those who became his allies, etcetera and wiped out many of the giants well, with a few exception."
