In an interview with TVC News, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, the Zonal Chairman of the All Progressive Congress in South East, criticises Peter Obi's divisive political strategies and highlights the dangers of using race and religion as leverage to win votes.

He argues that Obi's messaging created the perception that the APC's "Muslim-Muslim" ticket will restrict the freedom of religion of the Igbo people by taking advantage of their fears of religious persecution and conversion.

As a Catholic, he responds that these concerns were unfounded and notes that, ever since the election, he has been able to freely and peacefully practise his faith under the APC government.

"Peter Obi played a very tribal politics, which is very risky; we can't become president with his style," he said. For crying out loud, modern civilization dictates what tribe and religion members should believe. And that's precisely how he played it. Because of him, the public believed that the APC, which was campaigning on a Muslim-Muslim platform, would convert everyone. I remain a Catholic because I was raised one. Furthermore, no one has in any way or fashion convinced me to switch from Catholicism to Islam. Nobody talks about where we are; we are in Ebonyi State, and on Sunday I went to church with the governor."
