On 25th June, 2024 the Presidential Candidate from the Labour Party (LP) of the just concluded General Election, Peter Obi while speaking at the meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party at the party secretariat in Abuja, revealed that the reconciliation between the National Chairman of the LP, Comrade Julius Abure, and the former leaders of the party, led by the former Deputy National Chairman of LP, Lamidi Apapa was all about their party and he could assure them that everyone must reconcile with each other.
According to Premium Times, the Presidential Candidate from the Labour Party (LP) of the just concluded General Election, Peter Obi said "Let me tell you one thing, their reconciliation is all about our party and I can assure you that everyone must reconcile with each other. During our meeting before we learned that our people were outside, I told them that my first assignment was reconciliation, my second assignment was reconciliation and my third assignment, reconciliation and I can tell you that what you witnessed earlier is a normal thing in our lives, I do the same thing. It is what I do every day, even in our families. When we quarrel with our wives and children, we reconcile. Even today, during the meeting, I made one instance, which is that I have come to start the work of reconciling the family."
The National Leader of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi added that the former leaders of the party, led by the former Deputy National Chairman, Lamidi Apapa were members of the party and they must reconcile with them for the progress and development of the party. He also added that they were going to sit down around a table and decide the future of their party with both factions.
