The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, has expressed optimism that the party is ready to win the Ondo State governorship election in November. He made this statement while addressing stakeholders at the party headquarters in Abuja, before presenting the Certificate of Return to the party's candidate, Alfred Agboola Ajayi.
Damagum commended the party's unity and preparedness, saying, "While our opponents were embroiled in a rancorous primary, we produced a candidate without a dissenting voice." He attributed this success to the party's stakeholders meeting, where they agreed that all aspirants must come from the south.
Daily Post reported that he urged Ajayi to work hard to ensure victory, saying, "Don't take for granted that most of your co-aspirants have conceded to you. You need to bring them on board and work together to win the state for PDP." Damagum emphasized that winning the election will require dedication and hard work, but expressed confidence in the party's ability to succeed.
