Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Mr. Nyesom Wike delivered a statement stating that President Bola Tinubu is actively working to bolster the judiciary to assist with the administration of justice.

The commitment of President Tinubu was emphasized by Wike during Wednesday's groundbreaking ceremony for the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal Complex, according to Vanguard.

According to Wike, "President Tinubu’s approval for the construction of the Appeal Court Complex, accommodation for judges and justices, and retirement homes highlights the importance attached to the judiciary."

He elaborated on the significance of these programs and their role in the administration's broader goals.

He emphasized the importance of "putting the judiciary where it is supposed to be" as a necessary step for the nation to progress and achieve its goals. The core of Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda is this.

In the 2023 Legal Year, Wike recalled that the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dangban-Mensem, had requested the establishment of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal and appropriate housing for justices.

He added, "I took the matter to President Tinubu, and he graciously approved."

According to Wike, the three arms of government—the legislature, the executive, and the judiciary—must be treated equally in order to maintain a balanced system of governance.

He assured everyone that the project will be completed by September 2025 as planned.

He made it clear that he would not participate in a project with a delivery date beyond two years. With N30 billion already set aside in the 2024 budget, the total project expenditure is N37 billion.
