Reports on Wednesday, July 3, broke out that Diplomats from China and Russia asked the United States Government to respond and solve the alleged distribution of firearms to Haiti gangs fighting against Kenya Police in the country.

This happened merely some weeks after Cabinet Secretary of Interior in Kenya Professor Kithure Kindiki flagged off the first group of Kenya police to Haiti intending to install peace and security in the foreign country.

According to Kenyans.co.ke on Thursday, July 4, Russia and China ambassadors spoke during the United Nations Security Council meeting in the United States and accused President Joe Biden of failing to prevent the supply of illegal firearms outside the country.

Additionally, they raised concerns about the mission to restore peace in Haiti if the alleged exercise of supplying weapons to syndicates continues.

"We do not see the current embargo doing anything to prevent the flow of arms from the US," the Russian ambassador said.

Consequently, the ambassador strictly asked the United States to act swiftly to monitor the illegal exercise by heightening its sanctions by targeting traffickers and imposing foreign asset freezes and travel bans on them.

On the other hand, Linda Thomas, the United States ambassador to the United Nations refuted claims saying that the US government is keen and strict in imposing such policies.
