President William Ruto of Kenya has strongly denied rumors circulating on social media about a Kenyan Cabinet secretary being apprehended in Dubai with a large sum of money.

Addressing the public recently, President Ruto labeled these claims as false and urged the public to distinguish between truth and misinformation.

"We need to separate the issues that are correct from the ones that are fake news," President Ruto asserted during a gathering with Kenyans.

He emphasized that reports of a Cabinet secretary being found with over KSh 200 million in Dubai were entirely unfounded.

The president's remarks come amidst widespread speculation that a senior government official was detained in the Gulf city, prompting concerns about corruption.

Dubai, known for its luxury and modernity, was purportedly the setting where this alleged incident occurred.

President Ruto also used the opportunity to express his commitment to ensuring accountability within his administration.

He criticized certain government officials for their ostentatious displays of wealth, acknowledging that such behavior can erode public trust and provoke public anger.

"I have had to caution some officials for their behavior," President Ruto admitted, indicating his proactive stance on curbing extravagance among government ranks.

Despite calls for the dissolution of the Cabinet amidst these allegations, President Ruto defended his ministers, citing their youth and the guidance they require. He implied that while some adjustments might be necessary, a complete overhaul was not warranted at this time.
