opera.com 2 days ago

According to a report by Punch. Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo State, asserted that without rebuilding the infrastructure, the nation cannot see any significant progress.

This was said by Obaseki in Benin at the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy during the commencement of the BRACED Commission Strategy Retreat for chiefs of civil service from Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, and Delta.

The governor added that in order to guarantee that the public sector supports the nation's development efforts, bureaucracy needs to be corrected.

The governor explained, using Edo as a case study, that his administration chose to create the state through social welfare enhancement, institutional reforms, economic revolution, environmental sustainability, and the promotion of the arts, culture, and tourism.

In order to improve the workforce, he added, the civil service needs to hire the brightest minds, just like Edo is doing.
