The Kano State High Court has decided to delay the proceedings in a case initiated by the Kano State Government aimed at preventing the 15th Emir Ado Bayero and four other emirs from continuing their roles.

According to a report by Channels Television, this decision to seek an interlocutory injunction came after a temporary order was granted by the court previously.

The plaintiffs filed their motion following the receipt of a counter affidavit from the first defendant that needed to be addressed.

Justice Amina Adamu, presiding over the case, listened to arguments from both legal teams and has set a new date for the hearing on July 2, 2024.

In a related development, the Kano State Police Command has bolstered security by deploying additional armed personnel to the palaces of the embattled emirs situated in the metropolitan local government areas of Kano.

This heightened security presence resulted in the withdrawal of the hunters who had previously been responsible for guarding the two palaces.

Outgoing Commissioner of Police in Kano, Usaini Gumel, verified these actions in a discussion with journalists, emphasizing the necessity of having well-equipped and armed officers to handle any potential issues that may arise in the specified areas.
