The Kwara State Police Command has arrested a suspected ritualist, Isiaka Adeniyi, for attempting to kill a 10-year-old boy, Akeem Nurudeen, for ritual purposes. According to the police, Isiaka lured the young pepper seller into his room, covering his face with cloth and attempting to slaughter him with a knife.
According to Sahara Reporters, A statement by DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, the spokesperson for the state police command, said, "The suspect allegedly lured the victim under the pretext of purchasing pepper, but instead attempted to kill him." Thanks to the swift action of vigilant community members, the suspect was apprehended and brought to the station.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya, commended the community members for their proactive efforts in apprehending the suspect, ensuring that justice is served. The police assured that they will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safety and security of all residents of Kwara State.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough and discreet investigation. The police urged the public to remain calm and assured that justice will be served.
