Professor Zaccheaus Adangor, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has announced his decision to step down from any role within Governor Siminalayi Fubara's administration, as reported by The Sun. This decision came after a recent reshuffling within the cabinet, which saw Adangor being reassigned from the position of Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to the Ministry for Special Duties under the Governor's Office.

During his tenure under former Governor Nyesom Wike, Professor Adangor served as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice for a span of four years. The reshuffle, orchestrated by Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG) Tammy Danagogo, also affected Mr. Isaac Kamalu, who was moved from the position of Commissioner for Finance to the Ministry of Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment.

In response to his reassignment, Professor Adangor conveyed his dissent through a formal letter dated April 24, 2024, addressed to the SSG. In the letter, he announced his resignation from the State Executive Council, effective the following day. Adangor accused Governor Fubara of deliberately hindering his duties as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice by instructing him not to pursue legal actions against individuals with government backing.

Hear him: "I wish to State for the record that I am no longer willing to continue to serve in the administration of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, in any capacity whatsoever. Having served the Government and good people of Rivers State dutifully as a member of the Rivers State Executive Council for the past five years, it has become imperative for me to quit the administration to preserve my reputation."
