According to Daily Trust, Vice-President Kashim Shettima has embarked on a trip to Dallas, United States, to attend the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit, hosted by the Corporate Council on Africa.

The summit, set to take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, will bring together political and business leaders from Africa, the US, and beyond for high-level dialogues, networking sessions, and plenaries.

According to a statement by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima is scheduled to speak at various sessions, including discussions on African infrastructure investment, energy future, and agribusiness transformation.

He will also chair a session promoting the 'Invest in Nigeria' initiative and participate in other engagements on the sidelines of the summit.

Meanwhile, concerns have arisen over the whereabouts of President Bola Tinubu, who has not returned to Nigeria since attending the World Economic Forum's Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Speculations suggest that Tinubu may have proceeded to Paris, France, for medical reasons, while two credible sources have independently confirmed that he is currently in London on a private visit.

Presidential aides have assured that there is no cause for alarm and that the president will return to the country "this weekend."

Tinubu's absence comes amidst ongoing official visits and engagements, including his recent trip to the Kingdom of the Netherlands for high-level discussions and participation in the Nigerian-Dutch Business and Investment Forum.
