According to the report from the Vanguard, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Prince Tonye Princewill addressed the people of Rivers State, emphasizing the importance of unity and support for the current governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

He acknowledged the diverse backing that both Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, have received from various ethnic groups within the state.

Having been absent from the public eye and not engaging with the media for nearly two years, he recognized that he may have missed some developments in the state's political landscape.

However, he urged people to allow Governor Fubara to fulfill his duties without interference, just as previous governors were given the opportunity to do so.

Toney Princewill said this while reacting to the recent crisis in Rivers State.

He said, "My dear Rivers state. We have gone past that. The support in either camp is across all ethnic lines. Wike enjoyed cross cultural support when he was Governor and now Governor Sim is enjoying even greater support across all lines, now that he is on the seat. I have not been around and I have not spoken to you the media for almost two years, so I must have missed a lot, but we have made it very clear. Leave our son to work, just like we left other ones before him."
