According to The Sun, The Obidients Harmonisation Committee (OHC), led by Comrade Joseph Enan Maigari, has embarked on an ambitious mission to mobilize approximately 2 million volunteers nationwide in preparation for Nigeria's 2027 elections. This initiative follows the significant impact the Obidients Movement, inspired by Peter Obi, had in the 2023 general elections. The committee marked a major milestone with the inauguration of its steering committees across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory on June 8, 2024. The OHC's efforts reflect a strategic push to consolidate support and ensure the Labour Party (LP) presents a united front in the upcoming electoral cycle.

The Obidients Movement aims to build on the momentum generated in the previous election, where their presence was notably felt. According to Maigari, the OHC is committed to correcting past mistakes and enhancing their organizational strength. The movement’s strategy involves thorough mobilization and harmonization efforts, designed to resonate with voters who have historically expressed dissatisfaction with election outcomes. By engaging volunteers and supporters at the grassroots level, the OHC intends to foster a robust and cohesive campaign structure that can effectively challenge the political status quo.

Maigari emphasized the significance of unity within the Labour Party, underscoring that the Obidients will not endorse a divided party. This stance highlights the OHC’s focus on presenting a solid and unified front to maximize their electoral prospects. The movement’s leadership believes that by learning from previous experiences and addressing internal divisions, they can better safeguard their mandate and ensure their efforts translate into tangible electoral success. The OHC's determination to secure what they perceive as their rightful victory reflects their belief in the importance of benefiting from their political labor.

Looking ahead to 2027, the Obidients Movement is determined to make a substantial difference in Nigeria’s political landscape. Their strategy involves meticulous planning and extensive volunteer mobilization to avoid the pitfalls of previous elections. By focusing on unity, strategic organization, and active engagement with the electorate, the OHC aims to transform the discontent expressed by voters into a powerful mandate for change. The next few years will be crucial for the movement as they seek to solidify their base and position themselves as a formidable force in Nigeria’s political arena.

He said: You can see the impact we made in the last general election which we still insist LP won and we went to court; we believe our mandate was stolen, a mandate we laboured for because anybody who labours must benefit from the fruit of his labour. They have taken our mandate and we know the mistakes I made and that is what we are working to correct. Come 2027, those mistakes will not repeat themselves in 2027.
