A senior member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has predicted the demise of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) before the 2027 general elections, citing the worsening economic hardship faced by Nigerian citizens.

In an interview with DAILY POST, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, a former PDP gubernatorial aspirant, did not mince words in his assessment of the APC's future, stating bluntly, "Whether you like it or not, APC will be extinct before 2027 because the hunger in Nigeria is serious."

Onuesoke painted a grim picture of the economic realities confronting Nigerians, noting that the prices of basic food items have skyrocketed beyond the reach of the average citizen.

"A basket of garri is N4,000, a basket of beans is N8,300, a basket of rice is now N12,000," he lamented, adding that even APC faithful can no longer afford three square meals per day.

The PDP chieftain argued that the hardship has become so severe that many Nigerians, including some APC supporters, are merely pretending that all is well, but are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to vote out President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his "renewed hope" agenda, which Onuesoke said has been "dashed."

Onuesoke went on to allege that the rate of suicide in the country is "alarming," with a woman recently taking her own life by jumping from the Ekpan bridge due to "hardship and frustration."

He insisted that the APC will not survive the "political tsunami" that he believes is coming in 2027, even if the government increases the minimum wage.
