As President William Ruto aims for a full takeover it all State House operations and control, the fate of Munira Mohamed, who was in-charge of former President Uhuru Kenyatta's library, is left hanging in the balance.

In October 2022, Dr Ruto appointed veteran journalist Hussein Mohammed as State House spokesperson with another seasoned journalist, David Mugonyi picked to head the President's communication unit.

With the appointment, former Spokesperson Kanze Dena exited the seat of power after four years at the helm of everything to do with the former President's communication.

Dena and Mohamed were appointed on the same day. Whereas the former Citizen TV news anchor was picked as the overall head of the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit, Munira Mohamed was to deputize her. But her main duty focused too much on Uhuru's library and archives.

With no mention about her role at State House when Dr Ruto made high profile appointments on Friday, has Munira Mohamed survived the President's latest purge? Will she remain hanging around? If so, then the former KTN journalist will probably be the only high profile member of the Uhuru era remaining at the seat of power.
