According to Channels TV, The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, declared on Friday that any government that cannot secure lives and property has no business in governance.

Wike stated this while overseeing the distribution of 50 operational vehicles to various security agencies in Abuja.

During the event held at Area 11, Wike stressed the importance of security in governance: “We are no longer talking about infrastructure, we are no longer talking about the development of the area councils. We are now talking about the key factor, the key agenda, and that has to do with security.”

Wike went on to discuss the Bola Tinubu administration's dedication to public safety, saying, The security of life and property is one of Mr. President's top objectives.

Mr. President prioritises the security of Nigerians because he believes that a government that is incapable of protecting people's lives and property has no business being in charge.

"Mr. President, it is not his obligation to go and get the perpetrators," he added.

While it is not my duty to confront the offenders, it is our duty to supply the dog so that the security services may deal with them and ensure that we go to bed with our eyes closed.

Drawing on his prior experiences as a governor, Wike issued a warning against misusing the recently granted vehicles.

I want to make a plea to our security personnel you have to use these resources for the good of our community. It is crucial, really crucial.

As a former governor, I am aware of the several instances in which I sent certain vehicles and logistics, just to have you fail to account for them after two months.
