Sen. Yemi Adarmodu stated that the National Assembly's budget is not even 1% of the total national budget, despite the National Assembly being a crucial arm of the government.
He said this in an interview with Channels Television, claiming that before a journalist can allege, agree, and ask a question, it means they have conducted a thorough investigation. Adarmodu questioned the high earnings of the National Assembly that are hindering Nigeria's development.
Sen. Yemi Adarmodu said this in an interview with Channels Television.
In his words, "Before a journalist can allege, agree, and ask a question, it means that he has done a great investigation. What is that money that the National Assembly is earning that is impending the development in Nigeria?
Like I said in the 2023 budget and the 2024 budget, the National Assembly budget is not up to 1% of the whole budget, and the National Assembly is an arm of government. That is the legislative arm of government."
