President Joe Biden of the United States, has told his Democratic Party lawmakers that he cannot step down from being candidate of the party for the presidential election due in November.

The President, who has come under pressure to step down his candidacy after a number of gaffes in a televised debate with his Republican Party opponent Donald Trump, said that, now is not the time to talk about him stepping down.

There is talk already that should Biden choose to run no more, he could nominate Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him on the presidential ticket of the Democratic Party for the November 5 election.

Against such proposition, President Biden, in a letter to congressional Democrats on Monday, stood firm on his candidacy, demanding an end to the “intraparty drama” that has torn Democrats apart since his widely discussed public debate.
