Former Kaduna lawmaker Shehu Sani has countered FCT Minister Nyesom Wike's criticism, emphasizing his own political influence and hinting at future political aspirations in Nigeria.

Shehu Sani, in a Channels TV interview, challenged Nyesom Wike's evaluation of his senatorial achievements. Sani advocated for personal interactions over televised debates, suggesting a preference for direct engagement.

Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike raised doubts about Shehu Sani's effectiveness as a senator during the 8th Assembly. Wike suggested that activists often struggle to translate their ideals into tangible results when holding government positions.

Shehu Sani, referring to Nyesom Wike as a friend, expressed a preference for responding to him in person rather than on television. Sani pointed out Wike's tendency to avoid immediate responses, suggesting a desire for a more direct and personal exchange.

Shehu Sani defended his political contributions, highlighting his advocacy for democracy and the sacrifices made during the fight against military rule. He asserted that their efforts laid the foundation for Nigeria's current political freedom.

Shehu Sani pointed out that individuals like Nyesom Wike wouldn't hold their current positions without the sacrifices made during the fight against military rule. He emphasized that they are beneficiaries of those efforts.

Shehu Sani responded diplomatically to the FCT minister's criticisms of his Senate tenure, noting the general nature of the comments. He acknowledged Wike's indirect benefit from Nigeria's democratic progress, suggesting a shared legacy.

Acknowledging their shared experiences and age, Sani concluded with a measured tone. He hinted at a future response to Wike's premature conclusions and suggested continued dialogue between them.
