Questions Over Ruto's Crisis Plan

The Sunday Nation reports that several questions have been raised after president William Ruto announced a raft of measures revealing his his government is planning to implement some policies over the current mess the country is facing.

The tough new measures the president announced on Friday have earned public scrutiny and some experts have raised red flags and legal hurdles. Some have questioned if the president has powers to do so.

Some of the orders and directives have uncertain timelines, others are repeating existing timelines and some seemed to be directives that were issued in the past but not implemented.

The Treasury reports that the the recent budget cuts announced by the president will affect 24 areas. This follows the withdrawal of the finance bill 2024.
