Immediate past Deputy Governor of Edo State, Phillip Shaibu has said he has been vindicated by the Federal High Court judgment which invalidated the governorship primary election of Edo State.

In a reaction on Thursday to the judgment delivered by Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo, Shuaib claimed that what PDP tagged as a primary election on February 22, 2024, was nothing but a tea party with no force of law.

He said he had consistently and persistently cried out loud and clear that the PDP killed internal democracy with the fraudulent ways its purported primary election was conducted at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin.

A former Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, and Publicity Secretary of Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, Chief Peter Ameh, has slammed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike over his recent comment on the 2027 election.

Wike, while flagging off one of the projects in the FCT, had declared that the FCT Senator, Ireti Kingibe will not return to the National Assembly in 2027.

Ameh reminded the former governor that it was always a different ball game in Abuja unlike how he used to have his way in Rivers State.

Appeal Court Nullifies Expulsion Of 25 Pro-wike Lawmakers From Rivers Assembly

The court of appeal in Abuja has dismissed the order of a Rivers high court which restrained Martin Amaewhule and 24 others from parading themselves as lawmakers of the state assembly.

A three-member panel of the appellate court led by Jimi Olukayode-Bada, held that the trial court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain the suit, as such matters can only be heard and determined before a federal high court.

The appeal, which was filed by Amaewhule, factional speaker of the Rivers state house of assembly, and 24 others, sought to vacate the order of a high court in Port Harcourt that restrained them from parading themselves as lawmakers.
