Fubara: 'We Have Two Options That Excites Us After The Appeal Court Judgment' - Nname Ewor

Claiming that parliamentarians backing Pro Fubara are contemplating two promising possibilities following the Court of Appeal's decision, Nname Ewor—the PDP leader in the Rivers West Senatorial District and an adherent of the Pro Fubara group—made the assertion. He stressed that the House of Assembly has already instructed its legal team to pursue the first option, which is to appeal the judgement to the Supreme Court.

He elaborated by saying that the second choice is based on what the judges on the Court of Appeal said, which admitted that some people had left without getting into the meat of the matter. The judges' judgement, he said, was based entirely on jurisdiction, and the state High Court did not have the authority to hear the case. In addition, he said that they have therefore directed the filing of a formal complaint in the Federal High Court.

"The Rivers State government and the Rivers State house of assembly is not deterred by that judgement," he stated in an interview with Channels TV. After the appellate court judgement, we are excited about two choices. The House of Assembly has already instructed the legal staff to appeal that decision to the Supreme Court, so that is one option. The other is that we are avoiding the meat of the issue since the Court of Appeal judges have made it plain that these people have deserted.

According to the judges, the state high court had already decided the question of jurisdiction. So, all they've done is tell us to take legal action by suing in the Federal High Court. Since the Court did not rule on the matter, it is unclear whether the 27 lawmakers headed by Martins Amaewhule are still members of the State House of Assembly.
