What The Old Man Told Me When I Bought My First Second-hand Car -Pastor Enoch Adeboye Reveals

In a recent video on YouTube, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, recently shared a lesson he learned from purchasing his first car, a second-hand vehicle. The experience taught him the importance of vigilance and preparation, a principle he now applies broadly in life and ministry.

Recounting the event, Pastor Adeboye described his interaction with the elderly man selling the car. “As the elderly man handed the keys to me, he said, ‘Young man, keep your eyes on the fuel gauge. Otherwise, you may be stranded by the roadside.’” This advice marked a significant shift in Adeboye's perspective on ownership and responsibility.

Adeboye’s reflection reveals the importance of proactive care and the necessity of regular replenishment to avoid burnout. His experience serves as a reminder that, like a car’s fuel gauge, our personal reserves require constant attention to ensure we remain effective and ready for the challenges ahead.

According to him, "When I bought my first second-hand car, the elderly(Old) man whom I was buying the car from told me something when he was handling the keys to me, he said young man keep eyes on the fuel Guage. Otherwise you may be stranded by the way side. He said to me "Before when you had no car you take bus and taxi but pay no attention whether there is fuel in the tank or not. But now that you own your own car keep eye on the fuel gauge". I learnt a lesson from that day that before you run out of strength, refuel."
