Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago Gifts Corps Members N200,000 Each

In a generous move to ensure the comfort and welfare of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has announced the provision of N200,000 bonuses to all Corps Members under Batch B Stream One serving in the state.

Governor Bago made this announcement during the opening ceremony of the 2024 NYSC Orientation Course for Batch B, Stream One, held at the NYSC Temporary Camp in Paiko.

In addition to the monetary bonus, the governor also gifted the Corps Members 20 cows and a trailer load of rice, aiming to support their stay in Niger State.

In a further gesture to enhance the welfare of the Corps Members, Governor Bago promised automatic employment to those in the medical field upon the completion of their service year.

This commitment highlights the administration’s dedication to addressing the employment needs of graduates and strengthening the healthcare sector in the state.

The governor also announced the allocation of N5 billion for the construction of a permanent NYSC State Orientation Camp, which is intended to provide more suitable accommodation for Corps Members during their orientation period.

Meanwhile, interim measures will include the construction of additional toilets and the provision of five boreholes at the current camp.

Governor Bago’s announcement was shared on the state government’s official X handle (formerly known as Twitter) @NigerStateNG. Abdullberqy Usman Ebbo, Special Adviser on Digital Communications to the governor, also posted a video on his X handle, @Nupenchi, highlighting the N200,000 bonuses being given to the Corps Members.

These initiatives underscore the governor’s commitment to improving the living conditions and future prospects of NYSC members in Niger State, ensuring they feel valued and supported throughout their service year.
