Osimhen Is A Trojan for Nigeria, But It Was A Low—Sports Minister On Player’s Spat with Coach Finidi

According to Daily Sun, the Minister of Sports, John Owan Enoh, has for the first time, spoken on Super Eagles/Napoli FC striker, Victor Osimhen’s outburst against the Nigerian team’s former coach, Finidi George.

The Sports Minister spoke in an interview on Eagle7 FM Radio. He said in the interview that even though the striker went very low in the outburst, he is a Trojan in the national team, and as such the case should be handled with care.

Consequently, the minister said he has advised the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) not to make a pronouncement on the case until they have heard from Osimhen.

In his words, he said:

“There has been a plethora of opinions on this,” he said.

“Osimhen is a Trojan for Nigeria, but it was a low.

“I told the NFF not to make a pronouncement on this before they have engaged Osimhen.

“The NFF have to be focused and not be distracted.”

The minister reiterated that it’s is particularly imperative to manage the Osimhen situation carefully because these are not the best of times for Nigeria football.
