Arsenal are said to be open to selling the 24-year-old in the summer window

Nuno Tavares might rejoin former Gunners midfielder Matteo Guendouzi at Lazio, which would increase Arsenal's chances of signing a new striker. Given that Gabriel Jesus has battled to remain healthy and that Eddie Nketiah is reportedly leaving the team in the summer, Mikel Arteta is believed to be looking for reinforcements at the top of the pitch.

Any transfer for a top-tier forward is probably going to be expensive, but Arsenal can make some extra cash by selling players. Selling Tavares, who has been on loan at Nottingham Forest for the season and appears to have no future at the Emirates Stadium, would be a smart place to start.

In January, Tavares was on the verge of signing a contract with Marseille, but Forest needed him to fill in for absences and injuries sustained during the Africa Cup of Nations. Though football.london reports that his parent club would be "open" to selling him later this year, a transfer away from Arsenal might be revived after the end of the season.

Serie A is reportedly showing interest in the defender, and Lazio is expected to bid for his signature when it opens. Corriere dello Sport reports that Igor Tudor, the new manager, is excited to work with Tavares again since they collaborated at Marseille during Tavares' loan there the previous season.
