The Blues are said to have overtaken Bayern Munich in the race to land Guiu, who has been offered a new deal by Barcelona. He is yet to decide where his future lies but Chelsea are thought to be 'getting closer' to agreeing a long-term deal.

Man Utd open talks with Morata's representatives

Manchester United are reportedly speaking to Alvaro Morata's representatives as they weigh up a bargain move for the former Chelsea man. The 31-year-old remains tied down to Atletico Madrid until 2026 but could seemingly return to the Premier League this summer. United are keen on snapping him up, according to Turkish outlet Sabah , with the Red Devils already discussing a potential move for his signature. They are not the only club in the race, though, with AS Roma, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Fenerbahce also said to have opened talks with his representatives.

Newcastle end Calvert-Lewin pursuit

Newcastle United have pulled the plug on their pursuit of Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, according to Sky Sports. The Magpies had entered initial talks with Everton before deciding that a move would be too expensive. Calvert-Lewin is said to be valued at around £40m by his current club, who are unlikely to be bullied into selling him unless their demands are met.

Chelsea braced for Hutchinson offer

Chelsea are expecting Ipswich Town to submit a formal bid for Omari Hutchinson, according to football.london . The former Arsenal winger spent last season on loan with the Tractor Boys, helping them to secure promotion to the Premier League . Ipswich are keen on bringing Hutchinson back to Portman Road but it is said that Chelsea are unwilling to sanction another loan deal. An offer in the region of £20m is expected to be tabled by Ipswich, but Chelsea may hold out for closer to £30m.
