According to Vanguard, Ade Adetimehin, the Ondo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious in the upcoming November 16 governorship election. Adetimehin lauded the selection of Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the party's candidate during the recent primary, affirming him as a credible choice for leadership.
During Governor Aiyedatiwa's visit to the party secretariat in Akure, the state capital, Adetimehin emphasized the significance of unity within the party, underscoring the governor's demonstration of leadership by engaging with the State Working Committee (SWC) following his primary victory.
"The primary election in the APC is a family affair. We have elected our governorship candidate. Now that the primary is over, we must remain a united progressive family and come together for the November election," Adetimehin stated.
He urged all aspirants and party leaders to rally behind Aiyedatiwa, highlighting the importance of collective support for the party's success in the forthcoming election. Adetimehin expressed optimism in the party's ability to secure victory, citing Aiyedatiwa's candidacy as a significant asset.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, in his address, thanked the party leadership for facilitating a transparent and fair primary election. He emphasized the unity within the party, characterizing the primary contest as a family affair where all aspirants emerged as winners.
"As the primary phase concludes, it is time for us to consolidate and prepare for the challenges ahead," Aiyedatiwa remarked. He extended appreciation to the party members and committees involved in the election process.
Aiyedatiwa further unveiled his campaign headquarters located along Oba Adesida road in Akure, symbolizing the commencement of his campaign activities ahead of the gubernatorial election.
