According to reports from DAILY POST, the Arewa Youth for Peace and Security has criticized Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, accusing him of neglecting the security situation in the state.

The group's condemnation comes in the wake of disturbing allegations surfacing on social media, suggesting a concerning nexus between the state's leadership and banditry.

According to the Arewa Youth for Peace and Security, Governor Lawal stands accused of forsaking his responsibility to safeguard Zamfara State, a duty he purportedly emphasized during his election campaign.

The group alleges that Lawal exploited the issue of insecurity under his predecessor, Bello Matawalle, to garner public support, but has since failed to deliver on his promises.

President of the Arewa Youth for Peace and Security, Abubakar Hassan Kankia, expressed dismay over Lawal's alleged ineptitude in addressing the escalating banditry crisis.

Kankia asserted, "Since Lawal assumed office, he is overwhelmed by the burden of leadership and has no clue on how to tackle banditry in the state."

The group further accused Governor Lawal of indulging in diversionary tactics, suggesting that he squanders public funds to propagate falsehoods against Matawalle, the former governor and current Minister of Defence for State.

They claim Lawal's actions are aimed at gaining unwarranted attention and sympathy from the populace.

Moreover, the Arewa group highlighted disturbing reports circulating on social media, indicating a cozy relationship between certain political figures and the criminal elements wreaking havoc in Zamfara.

They lamented the brazenness of bandits openly praising Governor Lawal, viewing the state as a sanctuary for their illicit activities.

“These terrorists now want Lawal to remain in power beyond his tenure as they operate unchallenged,” Kankia stated.
