Nollywood Star, Aki, Wife Welcome Baby Boy

Nollywood star Chinedu Ikedieze, fondly known as Aki, and his wife Nneoma Nwaijah have announced the arrival of their baby boy.

Aki shared the news on his Instagram account on Saturday, with the caption, “My wonderful people, please rejoice with us my wife and I have welcomed a bouncing baby boy. To God Be The Glory”.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2011, welcomed their first child in January 2017.

Outage As National Grid Collapses Again

The National Electricity Grid on Saturday experienced another system failure, the fourth this year.

The grid collapse led to a nationwide blackout in states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The national grid collapsed for the first time in 2024 on February 4 followed by a nationwide outage on March 28 and another system collapse on April 15. 


Army Kill 11 ISWAP Terrorists In Sambisa

Troops of the Nigerian Army deployed for a special clearance operation in Sambisa Forest, have eliminated 11 Islamic States of West Africa Province terrorists.

The Nigerian Army, in a statement on its official X Handle, disclosed this on Saturday.

It said the feat was achieved in coordinated special clearance operations with a hybrid force on terrorists’ enclave in Jongo Village within the notorious Sambisa Forest.


Rivers State Assembly Heads To Supreme Court Over Appeal Court Verdict On 25 Pro-wike Lawmakers

The battle at the Rivers State House of Assembly between lawmakers loyal to the governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and those loyal to his estranged godfather and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has shifted to the Supreme Court.

The Speaker of the lawmakers loyal to Fubara in the state House of Assembly, Victor Oko Jumbo, said the factional assembly had filed an appeal at the apex court to challenge the judgement by the Appeal Court delivered in Abuja on Wednesday.

Recall that the Appeal Court had nullified the order of a Rivers State High Court which restrained Amaewhule and other pro Wike lawmakers from parading themselves as lawmakers.
