Mikel Arteta explains what Jorginho will bring to Arsenal’s title bid

Arsenal head coach, Mikel Arteta has hailed the acquistion of Jorginho from bitter rivals, Chelsea as a big boost to their title challenge after praising the the creative playmaker's hunger to win at the club.

The North Londoners have announced the £12m transfer of the Italy international as Arsenal added their second acquisition of the January market.

The 31-year-old joined the Blues in 2018 and helped the West Londoners secure the UCL in 2021, but has been allowed to leave with the West Londoners looking to finalise a deal for Argentina international, Enzo Fernandez.

"Jorginho is an intelligent player with strong leadership qualities, and a lot of Premier League and international experience, Arteta stated after Arsenal made the announcement that they had signed the 31-year-old on deadline day.

"Jorginho has achieved success in his career, but he still has the desire and the enthusiasm to help this team. We are thrilled to have Jorginho join our team and extend a warm welcome to his family.
