Nollywood veteran actor, Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, popularly known as Kanayo O Kanayo has decided to talk about his encounter with the wife of an undisclosed Governor who requested that they conversed in English language when her spouse came out to meet them.
Kanayo O Kanayo who spoke about such issue during an interview on Nigerian comedian, Nedu Ani's podcast few minutes ago, stated that it is laughable when someone denies being an Igbo person despite bearing an igbo name.
According to Kanayo O Kanayo, he was speaking with a governor's wife in Igbo language but she urged him to speak in English language when her husband came around, because they were told to deny everything that has to do with the Igbo tribe.
In his own words, Kanayo O Kanayo mentioned that;
"I was speaking with a governor's wife and we were talking in pure Igbo, her husband came who was a governor and she said let's speak in English, they were told to deny everything Igbo. And that's why I call on my Igbo brothers everyday, let's make Igbo land the heaven that it's suppose to be."
