Liborous Oshoma, a legal expert, has weighed in on the ongoing crisis in the Rivers State House of Assembly, stating that there is no conundrum in the situation. In an interview with TVC News, Oshoma referenced a similar incident that occurred during the tenure of former Governor Amaechi, where five members led by Evans Bipi attempted to suspend 26 lawmakers, sparking widespread condemnation.
Oshoma noted that the same individuals who condemned the actions of the five members then are now attempting to justify similar actions, saying that the tables have turned. He emphasized that the principle remains the same, and that five members cannot suspend 26 lawmakers, stressing that there is no conundrum in the situation.
In his words;
"When Amaechi was Governor, five members of the same Rivers House of Assembly led by Evans Bipi attempted to suspend 26 Lawmakers and it led to a crisis and people condemned that act that five members cannot suspend 26 and today, the people that condemned those five members are the one saying five members of the House of Assembly cannot suspend 26 members, the tables are turned today, so there's no conundrum"
