Professor Ihechukwu Madubuike, a former minister of Education and Health, expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of a collective and unified approach in the Igbo land. He highlighted the absence of a consensus or agreement emerging from a highly publicized economic summit.

In a recent paper presentation in Enugu, he lamented the lack of cohesion and cooperation among governors in the region.

According to Madubuike, there seems to be a trend where each governor seeks individual recognition and applause, rather than working together for the common good of Igbo land.

He emphasized the need for a collective effort, stating that the challenges faced by the region require a united front rather than individualistic approaches.

Madubuike stressed the importance of unity and collaboration at a regional level, suggesting that survival and progress would be more attainable through a collaborative effort rather than individual state-level initiatives.

According to Vanguard, Mabuike said, “It will surprise you that up till today, there is no agreed communique from that highly advertised economic summit. Recently, during a paper presentation in Enugu, I bemoaned the lack of cohesion and cooperation among our governors. Everyone is dancing and wanting to be applauded. Our situation in Igbo land is more than individual championships. We need a group championship if we are going to survive. We must survive as a group, not as individual states."
