Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman has earned praise from former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh for his stellar performances with Atalanta.
Since his €9.35 million move from RB Leipzig in 2022, Lookman has made a significant impact at Atalanta. Despite having played for Everton, Leipzig, Fulham, and Leicester City in the past, Lookman has seamlessly adapted to life in Italy in his initial seasons.
The 26-year-old attacker showcased his prowess by making 33 appearances in all competitions last season, contributing 15 goals and eight assists. This season, Lookman has continued to impress with 11 goals and seven assists in 37 games, including two goals and three assists in his last three matches, demonstrating his current excellent form.
Sunday Oliseh, the former Nigeria coach, expressed his admiration for Lookman after witnessing the winger's solo goal against Empoli.
“Ademola Lookman is simply unstoppable on a good day. I love watching this man play,” Oliseh shared on X.
Currently sitting sixth in Serie A, Atalanta has a chance to secure fifth place and a UEFA Champions League spot if they win their remaining fixtures this season. Additionally, they have reached the Italian Cup finals. Lookman's recent stellar performances have been instrumental, and coach Gian Pero Gasperini will be counting on him to maintain his form and help Atalanta finish the season strongly.
