Patriots for Advancement of Peace and Social Development (PAPSD) Executive Director Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi issued a statement on 13th June 2024 in response to the current security challenges in Zamfara State.

The statement urged Governor Dauda Lawal to stop behaving like a political party gubernatorial candidate and start acting like a governor. The statement further stated that the election had already taken place, so there was no need for blackmail, mischief, or deceit.

Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, the executive director of the Patriots for Advancement of Peace and Social Development (PAPSD), made the following statement to the Daily Post: When President Bola Tinubu sent the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru-led government delegation to Zamfara over the abduction of students of the Federal University of Gusau by bandits, the governor was out of the country and did not instruct any officials to receive the delegation on his behalf.

Nor did he reciprocate the visit when he returned to this day. " Well, that was an election. Corruption, extortion, and other forms of blackmail are unnecessary. As a political party's gubernatorial candidate, Lawal needs to mature and start acting like a governor.

To put a stop to the present security issues that Zamfara State has been undergoing for the last twelve years, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi said that all security agencies and vital stakeholders in the state needed to work together. Furthermore, he emphasised that combating banditry, kidnapping for ransom, and cattle rustling necessitates a concerted effort from all parties involved.
