Tinubu Not Undergoing Medical Check- FG Explains President's Absence

The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare Tunji Alausa says President Bola Tinubu’s absence from the country is not due to medical reasons. 

Tinubu is yet to return to Nigeria days after the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Saudi Arabia, prompting concerns about his whereabouts. But Alausa said contrary to speculations, Tinubu is not away from Nigeria on medical grounds.

Jasper Uche Dumps PDP In Abia

The 2023 Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State, Dr Jasper Uche has resigned from the party.

His resignation was disclosed in a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman, Umuaku Ward in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.

The letter made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday morning was also copied to the PDP Chairman, Umunneochi LGA and the State Chairman of the party.


Alleged N4.8bn Fraud: Court Adjourns Ibeto's Appeal To September 16

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos has adjourned till September 16, the hearing of the appeal filed by the Chairman of Ibeto Energy Development Company, Cletus Ibeto, challenging the jurisdiction of the State High Court to try him over an alleged N4.8 billion fraud.

Justice Muhammed Mustapha who presided over the appellate court adjourned the appeal to await the report of settlement talks between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the appellant. EFCC had charged Ibeto alongside his companies, Ibeto Energy Development Company and Odoh Holdings Ltd, on a 10-count charge of conspiracy, fraud, forgery, and fraudulent use of documents before the Lagos High Court, Ikeja.


Edo APC Tackles Obaseki's Ally Over Pecuniary Gains From State Govt

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo state chapter, has tackled the special adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki on media projects, Pastor Crusoe Osagie, on pecuniary gains from Edo government.

Osagie alleged that a lot of efforts and tactics were being deployed by people with selfish political interests to silence the voice of reason, truth and upend objectivity.

He said: “In Edo, a lot of effort has been made by a small segment of political actors to rewrite the history of the last seven and a half years, and their reason for doing this is simple: pecuniary.
