Hours after President William Ruto addressed concerns about her extravagant lifestyle, nominated senator Karen Nyamu has responded with a cryptic message on her Facebook page.
Nyamu wrote, “Welcome to Kenya, where ‘baddies’ also snitch,” hinting at her surprise and discontent that young people in President Ruto’s X-Space had reported her lifestyle to the President.
Following reports about Nyamu’s opulent lifestyle, which includes frequent posts of her clubbing and indulging in expensive alcohol, President Ruto revealed that he had personally discussed the matter with her.

“I have four Gen Z members in my household. I understand their perspective. I have spoken to Karen Nyamu and stressed that she needs to make changes,” Ruto said during his X-Space session.
In addition to addressing Nyamu’s conduct, President Ruto also commented on remarks made by Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah.
Ichung’wah had previously criticized Gen Z protesters, suggesting they were out of touch with the struggles of ordinary Kenyans due to their perceived affluence.
“After Kimani Ichung’wah made that statement, I called him, and the next day he corrected his remarks,” President Ruto stated.
He emphasized that he takes on a mentoring role to guide young politicians, acknowledging that their inexperience might lead to mistakes and occasional arrogance.
