According to Vanguard, Professor Fatima Batul Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor of Azman University, Kano, has emphasized the importance of good character for students to graduate and receive their degrees. Speaking at the university's maiden matriculation ceremony, she stressed that academic success and good character go hand-in-hand, and that students found wanting in character will not be awarded degrees, regardless of their academic achievements.
The VC encouraged students to focus on their studies, develop good character, and resist peer pressure and distractions. She also highlighted the university's commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and innovation, urging students to use their creativity and ideas to drive innovation and become future leaders.
The Executive Vice-President and Acting Chairman of the Governing Council, Alh. Mustapha Abdulmunafi Yunusa, also admonished students to be good ambassadors of the institution and future leaders of the country. The ceremony marked the beginning of the academic journey for 25 students in various fields of study.
