Former West Ham United star Nigel Reo-Coker is urging English giants Liverpool to swap out their struggling forward with either Victor Osimhen or Victor Boniface, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Despite tallying 11 goals and eight assists in 33 Premier League appearances this season, Liverpool's forward Darwin Nunez has faced criticism for his inability to capitalize on significant opportunities, having attempted 105 shots thus far.

With a meager 42 percent shot accuracy and 26 missed big chances, statistics indicate that the Uruguayan striker hasn't been the most efficient in front of goal, adversely affecting Liverpool's chances of achieving a quadruple this season.

As a result, the Merseyside club could potentially conclude the season with only the Carabao Cup victory, having fallen behind in the league race and exited the FA Cup and Europa League at the hands of Manchester United and Atalanta, respectively.

Therefore, Reo-Coker proposes that Liverpool should consider exchanging their forward for players such as Nigerian and Napoli star Osimhen or his fellow countryman, the 2023/24 Bundesliga champion Victor Boniface. Osimhen has scored 14 goals in 22 Serie A matches this season, while Boniface played a crucial role in Bayer Leverkusen's title-winning season, contributing 11 goals and eight assists in 20 games.

"The opportunities he receives are not minor chances," stated the former Aston Villa midfielder to TBR Football.

"They are creating opportunities for him, and considering the investment made in him as a striker, he should be converting those chances. However, he's not performing at the required level. If I were Liverpool, while losing Mohamed Salah is a possibility, finding a suitable replacement is feasible. Yet, the priority should be securing a prolific goalscorer.

With Nunez, it's a matter of either giving him another opportunity or exploring the option of trading him to another club. Liverpool could potentially negotiate a swap deal involving Nunez to acquire top European strikers like Victor Boniface, Osimhen, or others. This approach would allow Liverpool to upgrade their striking options while moving Nunez on."
