Report: Man City offered chance to complete controversial signing of Man United star this summer

Manchester City have been given the green light to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United at a reduced fee, according to TeamTalk.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly sanctioned the move, potentially reuniting Sancho with his former club on the other side of Manchester.

Sancho has struggled to replicate his Borussia Dortmund form since his £73 million move to Manchester United in 2021.

A fall-out with United manager Erik ten Hag led to his loan back to Dortmund, where he impressed by helping the team reach the Champions League final in the 2023-24 season.

Despite his success in Germany, Manchester United are looking to offload Sancho permanently, believing he no longer has a future at the club.

With ten Hag's position now secure, it appears Sancho’s days at Old Trafford are numbered.

Manchester City are among four clubs approached by United, with Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea also being contacted. United are reportedly willing to let Sancho go for £40 million.

Sancho has a history with City, having left their academy for Dortmund, where he made his name.

Despite this connection, it seems unlikely that the Premier League champions will pursue him. City already have plenty options on the wings, and their style under Pep Guardiola relies less on individual flair and more on a cohesive team approach.
