Renowned transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Atletico Madrid have turned down Chelsea's €30m (N48 billion) bid plus add-ons of up to €40m for Nigerian-eligible striker Samuel Omorodion. This move indicates Atletico Madrid's intention to keep the young talent in their ranks.

Omorodion, who has a release clause of €80m, is not desperate to leave Atletico Madrid unless the offer is too good to turn down. Chelsea, however, are not willing to trigger his release clause, making an agreement with Atletico Madrid the only way to secure the deal.

The 20-year-old striker impressed during his loan spell with Deportivo Alavés last season, scoring eight goals and one assist in all competitions. Despite a dip in form towards the end of the season, Omorodion's potential has caught the attention of several clubs, including Roma and West Ham.

Atletico Madrid's rejection of Chelsea's bid demonstrates their commitment to nurturing Omorodion's talent. The Spain U21 international joined Los Colchoneros from Granada in the summer of 2023, signing a five-year contract.

With Chelsea and West Ham having officially tabled offers, the transfer market is heating up for the young striker. As the summer transfer window unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Atletico Madrid will reconsider their stance on Omorodion's future.
