According to a recent article in The SUN, Eze Nzenwata Mbakwe, a prominent traditional leader from Abia State and former member of Ime Obi, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has challenged the stance of Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, regarding Nigeria's readiness for state police.

Mbakwe argues that Egbetokun's viewpoint reflects a regressive and outdated approach to addressing security challenges like banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism.

Regarding Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu's efforts within Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide to foster unity among the Igbo community within Nigeria and globally, Mbakwe expresses confidence in Iwuanyanwu's leadership.

He urges Igbo leaders worldwide to fully support Iwuanyanwu's administration, citing his unwavering dedication to mobilizing collective efforts for Igbo progress and prosperity.

However, Mbakwe emphasizes the importance of collective engagement in this endeavor, stressing that it shouldn't rely solely on one individual's efforts.

He calls upon the five Southeast state governors to prioritize open collaboration among themselves and work closely with Ohanaeze to promote enhanced development within the region.

Tragically, recent events in Igbo land have been marked by sorrow, including the loss of prominent Igbo figures like Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the first civilian governor of Abia State and former Minister of Science and Technology.

Furthermore, there is a pressing demand for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a fellow citizen whose continued detention negatively impacts the economic well-being of the region. This is evident from voluntary sit-at-home actions that have led to substantial financial losses.
