The 2023/2024 Spanish La Liga season will be rounding up soon and clubs are gearing up for their respective matchday 38 fixtures. Catalan Giants Barcelona are getting ready for their final game of the season against Sevilla and in that game they hope to perform well to stop Real Madrid from achieving a particular historic record.

Barcelona are set for their last game of the season against Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium. Real Madrid will be aiming to equal the record for the highest point gap between the winners and the runners up in Laliga history when they face Real Betis on the last matchday of the league.

According to reports from Sport, Barcelona have always held the record for the highest gap between winners and runners up in La Liga. In the 2012/2013 season, Barcelona finished with a 15 points gap over their eternal rivals Real Madrid (100 points to 85 points). That is the highest gap between the winners and runners up in La Liga history.

Real Madrid top the current La Liga standings with 94 points while Barcelona are 12 points behind with 82 points.

Barcelona could stop Real Madrid from equalling their 15 points gap record by avoiding defeat against Sevilla in the final La Liga matchday.
