Former presidential spokesman, Laolu Akande, has tackled the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, saying that the behaviour he has been putting up in public is clownish.

Speaking during an interview with Channels Television's Sunrise Daily on Thursday, he said that some people would see Wike as the most influential politician in Nigeria after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, yet Wike has failed to present himself in a more dignified way publicly.

He made comparisons between Wike's behaviour and that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He said that someone should tell Wike to take a look at President Tinubu's political journey, and ask him (Wike) if he has ever seen Tinubu behave in a way that he is behaving.

He also spoke about the political conflict that Wike is having with the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and described the conflict as inappropriate.

Speaking further, he said that even when President Tinubu had a problem with the former governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, the matter was not seen anywhere on television. He said that was a reflection of Tinubu's maturity in politics.

He said, "Someone should tell him that, look at the projection, the trajectory of President Tinubu whom you are serving, and who is clearly the number one politician in the country. Did you ever find him behaving in such a way that you are behaving publicly?

"Even when Tinubu had problem with Fashola, did you ever hear the matter on TV? Did you ever see anytime either of them come out in the open and start to do all this kind of display?

"It's important that someone speaks some sense to Mr Nyesom Wike."
