On 29th June, 2024 the Ebonyi State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha while speaking during the APC Chairmanship and Councillorship elections at Ivo Local Government Area of the State, announced that the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim was a member of the APC, and he was not only an APC member but a stakeholder of the party.
According to the Daily Post, the Ebonyi State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha said "I have made frantic and personal efforts and met him in Abuja regarding the need to join us because of his wealth of experience. He is such a wonderful personality, and there is no way you can put his picture in our (APC) rally program without his consent. He has already confirmed his membership in the APC, and that is why his picture is allowed in our program today. I stand here to announce that Senator Anyim Pius Anyim is a member of the APC. He is not only an APC member but a stakeholder in the APC. By the 14th of next month, you will know that he is not only a stakeholder of the APC in Ebonyi State but a stakeholder in the entire South East of the APC."
Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha added he approached the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Pius Anyim Anyim about the need to join the All Progressive Congress (APC) because it would not be possible for the entire South Eastern parts of Nigeria to be negotiating without a man like him. He also added Senator Pius Anyim was supposed to attend today's rally but due to his exigencies that was why he was not able to attend the rally.
